Guest Post from Rachel, The Intern
Today, I was driving to work when I saw something that really caught my attention. The new development in front of the community I live in had put up a rent-to-own sign. Now, what I find interesting is that these homes have been built for a few years and they just can’t seem to fill the homes. It’s EMPTY! So now I’m guessing they’re trying a different approach to selling the homes.
It made me wonder… These are such beautiful homes, in a great location, the price has been reduced twice and they’re brand new construction! So why aren’t they selling like hot cakes?
I know the economy hasn’t helped the housing market, but people are still in the market for new homes.
So now the question remains… What could the new development do in order to attract more prospects?
I decided to look up the community online and see what kind of presence they had online. Not surprised, they really don’t have much information. In this day and age, having a presence online is so important. For the most part, when people begin their search for new homes they start online. If they can’t find you how are they supposed to know you are there?
Why do you think they’re not doing well? Any suggestions? Share your ideas and thoughts. We’d love to hear them!

new homes are actually cheaper in the long run compared to renting an old house or renovating a used home “
